yet another dit da jow thread....

what do you guys thinks about the following dit da jow recipe? is it suitable for iron palm practice, and if not, do you have any suggestions?

it calls for 12 grams of each of the following to be mixed in one gallon of rice wine or vodka.

    Da huang/rhizoma rhei (rhubarb)
    Zhi zi/fructus gardenia jasminoids (gardenia)
    Hong hua/flos carthami tinctorii (safflower)
    Huang bai/cortex phellodendri (phellodendron bark)
    Ho yao/myrrha (myrrh)
    Ru xiang/gummi olibanum (frankincense)
    Xue jie/sanguis draconis (dragon's blood)
    Lu lu tong/fructus liquidambaris taiwanianae
Dang gui wei/radix angelica sinensis (tang kuei tails)

it's from the book, "a tooth from the tiger's mouth" by tom bisio (a great book, btw).

That is just a basic injury formula for minor brusing and inflammation; you definitely shouldnt be relying on it for iron palm training.

There are lots of strong and effective iron palm jow formulas out there for various stages and types of iron palm training...

No need for Tiger Bone in any formula. You can use any animal bone and get the same results.

That is okay but a basic bruise medicine.

You want to spice it up with Er Zhu San Leng and some tendon ligament strengtheners. Some put bone strengthening herbs in as well.

that is more geared towards Iron Palm rather then basic bruise medicine.
