R.I.P. Grand Master Jew Leong 周亮

    Grand Master Jew Leong 周亮
    1927 - 2010

    This truly saddens me

I regret to inform you that Great Grand Master Jew Leong,1st successor to the American Hung Sing Kwoon passed away this morning at 4 am. The Hung Sing USA branch is deeply saddened over this great loss. He was indeed a direct link to the past, and is now in the presence of all the masters that have gone before him.

Sigung, now you can see your sifu (Lau Bun) again. Rest in peace. You will be missed. But your legacy will live on. Thank you for everything you've given us.

Thanks everyone. I agree with Troy. My sigung was a true master. He may have been a man of few words, but he was truly respected by anyone who met him. I can imagine the reception once he enters the gates, all of them there to welcome him into their Heavenly family.

The moment i treasure most, knowing how he's a man who doesn't speak that often, told me that he was proud of the work i was doing to record the history of our lineage. Aside from a specific mistake i made, he basically agreed and supported what i wrote. It meant more to me than anything to hear that from him.

Professor Jew Leong has produced a good amount of noteworthy students in his life time. And to some of his students he was called the Technician because everything he did was clear and precise.

Although he's no longer with us, we'll continue to honor him at the future Gee Tuk celebrations and carry his name and memory forward into future generations.

I am saddened to learn this. My deepest regards to all concerned. Jew Leong was very kind to me and I will remember him fondly.
