    Fattest Cities in the USA

Man, this is crazy......5 of the top 10 fattest cities are in TX.

    The Fattest Cities
Latest findings show everything might just be bigger in Texas, including its residents.
    Men's Health

Go to Google Maps, type in "United States," and you'll be reminded of just how big Texas is. But what you can't see is the size of the state's citizenry: Five Lone Star cities are among the nation's fattest, with Corpulent Christi at the top.

To arrive at our rankings, we calculated the percentage of people who are overweight, the percentage with type 2 diabetes, the percentage who haven't left the couch in a month (CDC Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System); the money spent on junk food (Bureau of Labor Statistics); and finally, the number of people who ate fast food nine or more times in a month (Mediamark Research).

    Put the breaks on inflation

You have to give Texas legislators credit: They're trying to fight the state's weight problem with a bill requiring chain restaurants to list nutrition information, including calorie counts, on their menus. Yale University researchers recently found that this dietary disclosure prompted people to order meals with nearly 15 percent fewer calories. "People may have ordered less because many of the numbers are shocking, with most appetizers containing half a day's worth of calories," says study author Christina Roberto, M.S. Go to menulabeling.org to see if your politicians are pushing for greater nutritional transparency.

    Take steps

It may not feel like "exercise," but walking does burn calories; plus, the only gear you need is a pedometer, a notepad, and a pen. In a recent British study, men who wore pedometers and then wrote down their total steps at the end of each day walked 11 percent more than those who didn't put pen to paper. "Recording your steps motivates you to beat your level of activity from the previous day," says study co-author Stacy Clemes, Ph.D.

People would be surprised if they knew how little of their chicken mcnugget was actually chicken meat. Mmmm... love that ground up spinal column!

Maybe they wouldn't like their burgers if they saw the cows lying in their own feces, scared to death at time of slaughter (hunters know what this means), and sometimes fed their own species (where do you think mad cow came from?)

I don't think it's that. It is, probably, simply larger portions of food and beer. We also eat out alot, but so does Austin, there it's tofu, bean sprouts, sparkling mineral water, and wine... don't tread on the Earth Shoes, please.

It is a problem I have discussed many times.

I think most people eat too much meat. I hate how people swing to the extreme. Stop eating meat and go full on vegan because their 20 oz steak was making them fat and sick.

    Less meat...not NO meat.

So everywhere. More people have come to america from germany than any other country.

If you eat a lot you get fat.
If being BIG is "IT" then you get lots of fat people.

When given the choice between big business and big government, choose big business. Big business never threw millions of people into gas chambers, but big government did.

You're on thin ice, man. I was called a racist for pointing out that out-of-wedlock births among African-Americans was over 50%.

Go and ask any doctor what makes fat and they will tell you that it is Carbohydrates. Meat and animal fat can not make fat. It digests in a completely different way from Carbs. Processed sugars being the worst carb of all. It is probably the single most common cause of type 2 diabetes. Soda's and breads make up a great deal of the evil we eat. Meat, fish, poultry, green vegetables and fruit, with occasional nuts is more a natural diet and it will do wonders for you.
Not restaraunt foods, but the usual fast foods are likely to kill us all before it is done. When you eat at McD's you will likely have a burger, fries or tots, and a sugary soda. That large soda will likely contain about 30 teaspoons of processed sugar, then the burger has 2 to 3 pieces of bread in the buns, sugary sauces, and the tots or fries are potatoes and very high in the glycemic. The only thing there that is actually good for you might be the meat, lettuce and tomatoes if included.
