Seminar for Luk Hop July 11, 2010

SEMINAR FOR LUK HOP (SIX HARMONIES)

Latest Update: Also coming to our seminar will be Rick Wing's Sihings, who are among the most senior of Wong Jack Man's students. They have graciously consented to come, and they are William Dere, Robert Louie, and of course, Arthur Chin. They are all sifus in their own right, and each has a great deal of expertise and martial experience.

This "Luk Hop" Seminar maybe be considered similar to the "Northern Shaolin Fighting" seminar advertised earlier, except it is on the west coast and in San Francisco. All questions regarding Northern Shaolin applications will be answered here. If some attendees wish to skip learning the set "Luk Hop" and wish to emphasize the applications, that is also acceptable and in fact, welcome.

Sifu Arthur Chin and other Senior Students of Wong Jack Man

SEMINAR PROGRAM: Instructor Rick Wing will teach the set Luk Hop (Six Harmonies) for the first two hours. The Program is structured so that you will be able to learn this complete form in a step by step manner. The form will be broken down and Instructor Wing can even show you many alternative ways of doing the set. Other trainings in applications can also be taught. Instructor Wing spent many years of direct, personal experience with his noted teacher, Master Wong Jack Man and carries on his teaching position and tradition.

Sifu Arthur Chin, a senior student of Wong Jack Man and an instructor of the art of Tai Mantis Kung-Fu in his own right, will show applications for the next two hours. Sifu Arthur Chin has approximately 45 years of experience in the arts and is known to be the best at chinna techniques in the school. He knows many different styles of Tai Chi and also has a great deal of knowledge of the arts of Xingyi Quan and Baguazhang. His applications are varied, practical, and insightful.

GENERAL MARTIAL ARTS: Attendees are also invited to ask questions about Northern Shaolin, Tai Chi, Baguazhang, Xingyi Quan, etc.
We are also inviting many senior students and guests to come also. If people are interested and want to continue our conversations, we can all go out to lunch/dinner later, this to be paid by each person individually, i.e. we’ll go “dutch.”

    COST: $50.

INSTRUCTOR DISCOUNTS: If an instructor brings two students, the instructor can come at no charge.
EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT: If you pay before July 1, 2010, the cost will be $40 per person, check to be made out to "Lorraine Yee," Please contact us by either phone 415-661-8346, or by email at ldeayee@yahoo.com for prompt response.

BONUS: We will also give a free copy of the book "Martial Skill: Shaolin #5" a $20 dollar value, to all paying attendees. In general, we do not teach this quickly, but in the interests of sharing martial arts we invite all interested people to attend. We’d like to meet you and you can meet us and hopefully it will be a fun and informative experience for all in attendance. If you live in the Bay Area or are within a few hours away, or are visiting the Bay Area that weekend, we hope you can attend.
