Lhk tipped me off to this confidentially. Now that it's on the web, all can know.
Book 2 of The Legend of Korra to Release in the Middle of April
Posted on March 28th, 2013 by Keval
The moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived. Janet Varney has officially announced that Book 2 of The Legend of Korra will air sometime “mid-April.” This announcement was kept very private mostly because she never tweeted that, “Book 2 is coming in mid-April!” A fan actually asked her when Book 2 would be making its debut and she replied back saying “mid-April.”
Since this was a mere reply, the news didn’t really take off like it should have. But that’s why I’m here.
You can see the actual Twitter Feed of Janet Varney’s announcement below:
You can see the actual tweet here.
The unfortunate part of things is that we still don’t know an actual RELEASE date. But since Janet was able to make this announcement VIA Twitter, it looks like Book 2’s Release Date isn’t much of a secret anymore. In that case, we can probably expect Matsuri Con to reveal the official release date tomorrow.
But until then, we can always speculate: When I pulled up my handy-dandy April 2013 calendar it looked like the Saturday that could be considered “mid-April” is either April 13th or April 20th. Obviously nothing is confirmed in this department, but April 13th or April 20th are my best guesses for Book 2’s release date.

Sad the fandom is all twisted up about the delay (I am too) but there is a lot of work involved in producing a show like this....

ooooh, a greater threat!'Legend of Korra': Aubrey Plaza, James Remar, Lisa Edelstein join cast for Book 2 -- EXCLUSIVE

The Legend of Korra has added several familiar names to its cast for Book 2: Aubrey Plaza, Lisa Edelstein and James Remar are among those voicing characters on upcoming episodes of Nickelodeon’s animated action-adventure series, EW has learned.
Plaza (Parks and Recreation) will play Eska, who is one of Korra’s Waterbending cousins, and whose twin brother, Desna, will be voiced by Joan of Arcadia‘s Aaron Himelstein. (Check them out in the image above, which was taken from an upcoming episode.) Remar (Dexter) will assume the role of Tonraq, the powerful Waterbender who is Korra’s father (and is pictured below), while Edelstein (House) will play Kya, Tenzin’s sweet-yet-impatient sister.
In addition, John Michael Higgins (Best in Show) has been cast as Varrick, an eccentric capitalist and self-proclaimed “Biz-Bender,” while Adrian LaTourelle (Sons of Anarchy) will tackle the role of Unalaq, Korra’s uncle and Chief of the Northern and Southern Water Tribes, who seeks assistance from Korra.
Book 2 — a.k.a. the second half of season 1 — picks up six months after Book 1 ended with Korra triumphing over Amon and the Equalists. Now she faces an even greater threat “as the physical and spirit worlds collide.” Consisting of 14 episodes, Book 2 will debut later this year.
The show’s main cast and executive producers will appear at a Comic-Con panel in San Diego on July 19.
