    United States Martial Arts Festival 2010 Celebrated In Los Angeles


    Martial arts masters from many countries such as Japan, Korea, USA, China, Israel and Thailand are strongly showing their support for this event by voluntarily performing their country’s martial arts for the added benefits of peace, unity and brotherhood.

    Los Angeles, CA June 19, 2010 -- The highly anticipated and inaugural United States Martial Arts Festival™ 2010 ( http://www.usmafest.com) will be held July 18, 2010 at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center located in the City of Redondo Beach of Los Angeles. With plenty of free parking, the doors will open at 2:00 pm, and the various presentations and martial arts demonstrations will run from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. The event will be locally televised by United Television Broadcasting (UTB) Hollywood and covered by various radio stations, magazines and newspapers to promote and celebrate the festival in the Los Angeles area.

    Hosted by the United States Martial Arts Committee™, the purpose of the annual United States Martial Arts Festival™ charity event is to promote the arts and celebrate the international cultural community. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the martial arts scholarship program of the Shin Koyamada Foundation (http://koyamada.org), which will use the funds to sponsor youth to enroll in a martial arts school in the United States.

    Martial arts masters from many countries such as Japan, Korea, USA, China, Brazil, India, Israel and Thailand are strongly showing their support for this event by voluntarily performing their country’s martial arts for the added benefits of peace, unity and brotherhood.

    The Festival’s celebrity special guest is Shin Koyamada (Star of the epic film The Last Samurai and Disney Channel’s internationally hit teen movie Wendy Wu Homecoming Warrior.). Celebrity soprano singer Yolanda Mitchell West will make a special guest appearance to sing the USA national anthem. The internationally famous Internet and television hostess Nia Lyte will host the day’s event.

    Sponsors, schools and supporters will set up booths/tables to present and promote the organization. Food and beverages will be provided at the Center.

    The event performers include Grandmaster Soke Kubota (International Karate Association), Grandmaster Fumio Demura (Sh!to-Ryu Karate-Do Genbu-Kai International), Grandmaster Tadashi Yamash!ta (Yamash!ta Shorin-Ryu Karate Association), Sifu Shi Yan Hui (California Shaolin Temple), Sifu Ken Hui (Northern Shaolin Kung Fu + Lion Dance) and Sifu Kisu (Harmonious Fist Chinese Athletic Association), Grandmaster Lion C. Choi (Tae Kwon Do), Roy Elghanayan (Krav Maga Los Angeles), James E. West II (Brian Hawkins’ American Kenpo Karate), Grandmaster Chul Jin Kim (Hapkido/Chul Jin Martial Arts), Master Ted Tetsuyasu Uekuma (South Bay Shorinji Kempo), The Ruffo Brothers and Kung Gu Rinpoche (Kadanmpa Temple). The event will also feature traditional dancers and China’s Lion Dance.
