    Pulled/Torn Groin Muscle

    i pulled a groin muscle a while back (i foolishly did a rather high outside-crescent kick without warming up), and now everytime i practice it gives me grief.
    it's been several months, and i spent a good while just resting the muscle - but (like most martial artists) i soon grew restless. and now, it seems whenever i practice this muscle feels much tighter and there is always a good amount of pain when i attempt to stretch it.
    most recently, i've noticed that purple bruising occurs whenever i (over) exert the area.
    anybody have suggestions for treatment?...preferably of the noninvasive variety.

    don't stretch it - go where it wants to go and let it rest there; hold for several minutes at a time, repeat frequently until the muscle restores itself to its original resting length;

    if that makes no sense to you, spend some time exploring this and it can work nicely for you:

    I would stop using it at all. You have to ask yourself what good it is. You will not be able to use it to fight unless your antagonist agrees to let you stretch beforehand. And what if it happens while you are in a serious confrontation?
