    New Mantis Book

    Friends,
Those interested in the forms of Northern Praying Mantis as taught by master Wong Hon Fan may be interested in my new book found here:

    http://www.blurb.com/books/1485237

It contains a translation of the quanpu (fist songs) for fourteen of the Northern Praying Mantis empty-hand sets.
The first fifteen pages, including the table of contents, can be viewed at the above link.

    Regards,
    Richard A. Tolson

    Keyboard out of ink?

Or do I need to rub urine on my screen for the letters to appear?

    Roy,

    Thanks for the positive feedback!

    Sanhechuan,

The book on the Diao Fa form is a small handbook for my students that covers one of our core forms. You can see an abbreviated version of the form here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W45HkuR7vuc

The book on Wong Hon Fan's Quanpu is a translation of 14 of the WHF lineage forms. If you are of that lineage, it should be a good reference for you. If you practice another PM style, it should at least be good for comparison.

Though both books might better be considered booklets, hey they are not War & Peace, I believe they are each filled with useful knowledge for the Mantis practitioner. The Wong Hon Fan' Quanpu book is I believe the first time these forms have been offered together in an English translation with the Mandarin pinyin for each movement.

At $5.95 for the most expensive book, Wong Hon Fan's Quanpu, you will not be out much if you don't like it. You can always level a table with it or something.

    Richard
