Gordon Liu was great, one of the best old-school Hong Kong peeps.

For older movies, I always liked "5 Deadly Venoms". For newer flicks I really like "Iron Monkey" with Donnie Yen.

I would have to go with Drunken Master as one of my all time favorite kung fu movie. But as for actor, it has to be Donnie Yen.

never cared for GL, thought the choreography was awful. I always liked the venom gang, especially ,Chiang Sheng.
Bruce Lee -Kato was the first CMA I 'd ever seen. I was 11 yrs old, and that was it!
    I HAD to learn GUNG-FU!!!
When I first saw the TV commercial for Chinese Connection, I literally screamed!
My Mom ran into the den,"What's wrong??!!"
I said, "BRUCE LEE IS MAKING MOVIES!!!" (I honestly thought I was like the only one who knew who he was!)
Enter the Dragon was orgasmic for me. The opening scene was like a religious experience.
(I had the book, "Secrets of Chinese Karate," by Ed Parker-the first book to talk about the Shaolin Temple, the wooden man hall, the brands of the Tiger and Dragon, waiting outside the gate for three days, etc. When ths show KungFu came out-I had another experience, again, thinking I was the only one who knew about the Shaolin Temple...ok, so I was a dopey kid..)
Now, Donnie Yen is da man.
"My Gung-Fu may not be Your Gung-Fu.
    Gwok-Si, Gwok-Faht"

"I will not be part of the generation
    that killed Kung-Fu."

    ....step.

Donnie Yen is the man right now.

But I'm not afraid to admit that I think Jet Li is the all time great with movies like: "Bodyguard from Beijing", "Once upon a time in China", "Unleashed", "Hero", "Kiss of the Dragon", "High Risk", "The Tai Chi Master", "Fist of Legend", "The Legend of the Swordsman", "New Legend of Shaolin", and the granddaddy of all that is cool in the martial arts movie world...
    "Shaolin Temple"

gordon liu looked like my cousin.

36 chambers is a classical tale of shaolin

so the movie is classical by many standards or class of its own.

it also marked the movie making industry transitioning from taiwan to hongkong.

Thumbs up donnie yen no doubt

i loved how in kill zone he did improving fight scenes and brazilian jujitsu. it's nice to see someone doing something new in kung fu movies and raising the bar even today.
iron monkey was awsome, Ip man was great too.
