    Mantis claw strikes

    Hi all,
Just a curiosity question. I know the
mantis hand has many uses/applications, has
anyone ever trained their fingers (such as
the index finger) for pressure point strikes
in their particular style? I'd be
    interested in anyone's experiences.

    Thank you,

I trained my fingers during a short bout of crane style before leaving Texas. The first few weeks I had black bruises under my fingernails. Once it toughened up I was fine. I practiced by breaking cedar shingles into smaller and smaller pieces as well as striking the heavy bag. Unfortunately I didn't keep it up. Since the mantis strike attacks soft targets I don't think this level of training is really neccessary.
