How Meditation Affect the Gray Matter of the Brain
Meditation Strengthens the Brain

Interesting. Thanks for posting this, Josh. I hope to see some much larger scale versions of this type of study in the future. (only 49 participants in this one)
Of interest to me is the benefit gained from non-momentum based Neigong and Qigong exercises such as Taiji, Bagua, ChanWuYi, etc which share more in common with meditation versus momentum based external practices seen in most southern arts/modern shaolin practice which share more in common with taking a jog or hitting the punching bag as far as health benefits are concerned.
Also of interest is that some local MMA schools near me have picked up meditation teachers to teach weekly meditation classes- I believe it to be a good choice as far as health and life is concerned.
Found this video- discusses a bit about Tea and it's ability to induce Alpha brainwave generation.

Also I'm further interested in these "Alpha Waves" of meditation and tea drinking. I'm curious as to the level of Alpha waves present in Tai Chi/bagua/chanwuyi/internal players compared to boxers/others who also appear focused ? Are they generating the same brain waves in their "focus" as the internal players?
