    Ymaa

YMAA stands for Yang's Martial Arts Association.

The "Y" is Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming. YMAA was established in Boston, MA in 1982. With the intent of preserving traditional Chinese Kung Fu and Qigong , Dr. Yang began teaching Shaolin Long Fist and White Crane Gongfu and Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan. Currently, YMAA is an international organization including 56 schools.

    A. Im a cat-person.

    B. I discussed this post with Gene and its not spam.

C'mon, 27 years at anything is an accomplishment.

You should just admit that you don't know the answers to these basic kung fu questions.

You've been a member for over a year and have a total of 10 posts, three of them in this thread

You're pushing a web site, one that sells stuff

    Your questions are LAME......

Oh, Gene will let it go, this place is wildly unmoderated.... but it's still spam

    And actually, you are WRONG

Since you NEVER post here and apparently never spend any time here, I guess you don't know that pretty much the entire community here agreed a long time ago NOT to engage in threads of this nature

We consider them SPAM, and we don't like them. Like I said, Gene might let it slide, but the community has spoken MANY times on this

You might not find that fact I am pointing this out "friendly" but we the community find you ONLY coming here to do this sort of thread equally "unfriendly"

So, in conclusion, do you have anything to add to this community? Or just this LAME "what does kung fu mean" trivial nonsense

    Here's why he's wrong

    originally refered to "拳 法"

only later to be converted for a variety of reasons to "拳術"

if you actually knew Chinese, you'd know how easily multiple characters are shortened to single characters but retaining the original meaning implied

LKFMDC, I'm still waiting for you to finish your five part "answer these questions about kung fu" series of threads. I've done nothing in waiting for these questions, including not buying a life insurance policy, but that should be no big deal, as today is my last day on the force before retirement; me and my partner, Steven Seagal, are heading out now. Can't eait to get home and retire with my wife and those orphans we adopted.

    I'll check back tomorrow!

We don't post here much, because we moderate our own martial arts forum. We have had a friendly relationship with Tiger Claw for many years, online, in print, and in person. We do business with Kung Fu mag and vice versa, and Dr Yang and other YMAA authors are regular contributors to the magazine and online articles.

We are celebrating a 27-Year anniversary for a very cool traditional kung fu school, and giving away free stuff.

The questions are YMAA-specific, and get more difficult as you proceed.

The few posts I have made have been in the spirit of Wu De, martial morality; one of which is self-respect and respect for others.

if you are so very offended, please move on to another topic quietly.

And I'll add, maybe it was a mistake to post here. My bad. Bye.
