Actually I do take TKD. :P While the older style shares a lot it's Shotokan roots, it is a definate variation on it. Robin studies a WTF style of TKD and could offer some insight into what it's like.
Sadly there are many TKD schools (ITF and WTF) that stink and/or are money grabs. Robin and I have both found good instructors.

By the way, what style do you practice?
