Thread: Tai Chi gun on back application

  1. Tai Chi gun on back application

    Hello,

Someone demonstrated an application of Pekiti-Tirsia for when a gun is on the lower back by turning and doing several things and that was impressive like an experienced fighter having speed, power, control and other things. I did think that most people would get shot doing this unless an experienced fighter or a top non-fighter practitioner and that would require a lot more than just gaining skills on applications. I had learned Tai Chi and Kung Fu during college and that as a non-figther practitioner, however, I have not practiced for over five years. If someone could share for an experienced fighter some applications of Tai Chi for this then I would share them with him. If there are online videos for it then that would be nice.

    Thank You,
    Shakti Saran

you could try turning while doing brush knee and push:
turn counter-clockwise, your left lower hand brushes the gun-arm away as you pivot, the right palm strikes to the chin. You can lock his arm and continue to a take-down.
Turning the other way, clockwise, the right hand brushes the gun arm, and as you step around, it locks the arm, while the left hand is under the jaw and locks the neck. You can continue turning into a take-down as well, or grab the wrist, and do an outward wrist lock and throw, as in jiu-jutsu's koto-geashi.
"My Gung-Fu may not be Your Gung-Fu.
    Gwok-Si, Gwok-Faht"

"I will not be part of the generation
    that killed Kung-Fu."

    ....step.

  3. Hello TenTigers,

Thank You for sharing on this. I watched this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bGH9v6OYa4 and then this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHtEjbv57Qs and that along with your Tai Chi description I should be able to give the person some idea of a Tai Chi application.

I watched http://ten-tigers.com/video.php?ID=22 which is nice and that it reminds me of my instructors.

    Best,
    Shakti Saran
