    RIP Great Grandmaster Ernesto Presas

We've received word that Great Grandmaster Ernesto Presas passed away yesterday in Manila.

I never met GGM Presas. I only know him from the Philippine Combative Arts DVD series that TC Media did with him. That was shot before my time here. From those vids, he seemed like quite a character.

Sorry to hear we have lost another teacher.

    May he rest in peace.

Prayers to him, his clan and to his extended FMA family.

I wonder what 'uncle' is in tagalog?

my arnis is from GM Remy and I had the good fortune to be at several seminars by GM Remy as well as several group classes he instructed at our school in Boone.

    Aw dang!

    RIP

Never really trained under him, but have on various social event, have met him in and around bay area and stockton, CA. My uncle and his friend trained me in Arnis and would talk about training with him all the time.

Oh and Uncle in Tagalog can be Tio, or Tito or Manong, just depends on region of Philippines you are from. In our family we use Tito for direct relation and Manong for addressing someone outside of our family.
