Drills/Exercises to improve flexibility
The following are some training methods I have used for increasing flexibility.
The obvious, stretching. Of course always stretch before training but also a few times during the day. I always like to stretch in the morning before I get up and at night before bed.
Stance training- Builds leg endurance as well as strength in the hips and better dexterity. In Pai Lum we have a drill called Leg Training, is basically this:
10 reps of Lunge Stance (Left than Right equals one rep)
10 reps of Reverse Bow Stance (Left than Right equals one rep)
10 reps of Heel Stance (Left than Right equals one rep)
Horse Stance training- Horse, Five Step Horse, and Iron Horse held about five minutes.
Squat Jumps- Pretty much what it sounds like, jumping into a squatting position down the floor or gym, squatting to where your as**s nearly touches the floor, again builds dexterity and flexibility, as well as strength and endurance.
Please feel free to add your own drills or tips for increased flexibility.
