    who spars?

who actually spars here ? where you get hurt, how much of what you train in form and application is implememnted in said sparring?

I never walk away from sparring without some sort of ouchie.

No, my forms don't apply, because what I do with forms isn't the same style that I spar in. I'm not allowed to use them. Hafta rassle.

I still compete in Muay Thai and MMA so sparring is a must and regularly, but being as I'm also a traditionalist I still practice/teach a few forms. I still teach sets such as Small Arhat, Small Frame and Large Frame because outside of boxing, kickboxing and grappling movements the forms help to mature my students neuromuscular systems.

all i do is forms... i dont even learn the applications... why bother, i have faith in my style... everything will come together when i need it to... if im attacked, its like applicable knowledge just falls into my brain... so its all good... i do forms taining 3 times a week for about 2 or 3 hours each time i go... i feel this is more than enough to master my forms... why would i want to spar and take the chance of being hit?

Once I met a guy who said I was going to lose because he sparred all the time and only trained against a resisting opponent.

I shot him in the face.

you should ONLY do stance training for like 20 years because if you stance sucks so will your strikes. your strikes will feel like puffs of wind on your opponent. without a good stance.....YOU'RE NOTHIN!!!!!!!!!!!
