    Kung fu in Shanghai?

Wow, it's been a long time since I last posted!

So, there's a good possibility I will be traveling regularly to Shanghai, and a fair possibility that I will be temporarily relocating there too. I haven't had any formal training in the better half of the decade, and I thought it might be a good opportunity to train a bit while I am over there.

My experience has been in Southern kung fu, Choy Lay Fut specifically, but I'd like to expand my horizons a bit with my next foray into kung fu. After all, this relocation is all about expanding my horizons, albeit from a career standpoint primarily. Is anyone familiar with any instructors or schools in Shanghai? After reading about Gene's several trips to Shaolin, I've gained quite an interest in Songshan Shaolin, but any kung fu would be great!

    Appreciate any suggestions!

If you're in Shanghai, start with Chin Woo

...or Jingwu... depends on how you want to spell it.

Here's our Chin Woo - Huo Yuan Jia Collector's Issue

I don't know about Songshan Shaolin in Shanghai, but I'm sure there must be some there somewhere.

    Thanks Gene...

I thought you might say Chin Woo! Fist of Legend is one of my all time favorites. Have you ever seen the Donnie Yen version (TV series)?

I've seen a few episodes, but not the whole series.

You'll have to check out our next issue (MAR APR 2011, on newsstands FEB 1, 2011). We have a report on the Chin Woo Centennial in Shanghai. Some of it is straight from what they are now calling "Chin Woo Town".
