    Superbowl XLV

    Packers or Steelers?

I'm strangely not invested in this year's Superbowl. Maybe I got enough football with Hershel Walker's MMA fight last Saturday.

Last year, this thread took an amusing turn...

I couldn't care less about football...unless it's the one where you actually play the ball with your feet. However, since they are across the lake and in our division, I'll pick the Packers!

best line ever in postgame interview...

all we hear about is their defence, they cant stop a nose bleed, 25th in the league and we the ones get disrespected...

    useless trivia...

the G on the logo for green bay does NOT stand for green bay, like anyone would logically assume... it means "greatness"... oh, and the packers are named the packers because originally they were sponsored by a meat packing plant... coulda guessed that one tho...

BEP halftime show = embarassing disaster...

you know, maybe its just me, but studio hits are bad enough performed live in a controlled atmosphere like a club, but in a stadium its just tragic... as long as they keep bringing in studio wonders who rely on post production to make their work passable, they are gonna have ****ty halftime shows... they need either real bands who can play tight, or if they wanna go hiphop they need to choose people who shine in live performances... sound wise, i dont mean a neat stage show with lots of cool outfits and dances, but real musical skill that shines thru at any venue... 15 years ago the peas could have done that... but then they sold the fukc out... either their musical tastes changed drastically for the worse, or they changed for money... i dont care which... but if they had done jointz n jamz in jeans and dreadlocks they wouldve tore the house down... sad... if they had never been good, id feel better about all this...

    rant...... done....

here's why i liked them in the first place... pre-fergalicious, back when she was doing hits of crystal meth out of broken light bulbs in a cheap motel bathroom on tour with the dynamic girl band wild orchid... BEP was making good tracks like this:

the 2:30 mark and beyond is where they really shine...

I was saying to my wife that Black Eyed Peas ate it big time after bringing Fergie into the mix. That halftime show was unbearable. Their stage lights were even fully lit, and it was just glitz. Thanks, if I want lit up Tron suits I'll go see Tron.

I wish some random punk bands woulda bumrushed the stage.

Also, I bet Axel Rose is ****ed off! Fergie really mangled Sweet Child of Mine.

I actually wound up watching it from halftime on...

It was a gorgeous day - sort of a shame to be inside.

I'm sorry I missed Aguilera's national anthem. That sounded funny.
