As to predictions, we will see. Keep in mind, well over a year (maybe even 2, I need to check) I openly predicted on this site inflation would hit due to his massive spending and printing of money. Now we have economists saying clothes will likely be up 20% this summer, and gasoline and food are headed up too. Yet if it happens, I'll still be called crazy, racist, and stupid. Just watch.
I agree it's not the best word. And you're right, if we put in money, we are **** sure entitled to get it back. But since the Govt allowed itself to break the law in the first place (as Social Security fits the definition of a Ponzi scheme), who says they won't just say 'Tough ****' when it comes time to pay us our money?
I consider welfare, food stamps, Section 8 Housing, etc to be entitlements becuase these wastes of space on them feel they are entitled to them. And those should be cut first, well before we close schools and layoff teachers, cut fire/police/EMS services, close libraries, etc. Does anyone here even disagree with that?

I would agree with that statement except for a few things: What would you then do with a few million more people sleeping in the streets? How would you control the riots? How would the rest of us deal with the diseases brought on by the deteriorated health and starvation of others? It just isn't practical.
I work with the poor on a daily basis. Some are there due to no fault of their own. They were born into it, or the job crash put them there. Others live in poverty due to felonies, failing to take advantage of free public education, and failure to obtain marketable job skills. This crosses racial and social lines. It is not "them". It is a part of "us".
Recovery could be put in motion, if we followed a few steps:
1. Forced sterilization of adults (men and women) after a specific period of time on welfare.
2. Three strikes (including during childhood) and you are put in a forced self-supporting "community" from which there is no return.
3. Diminish or squash foreign aid till our own people are taken care of.
4. Close our borders to anyone without a college degree and a prior employment contract. Deport or execute those who choose to cross our border's illegally.
Even such radical ideas as these could take more than one generation to revert our current circumstances.
If the steps I outlined were enforced I predict a few acceptable outcomes:
1. Families would once again be forced to police their own homes.
2. Families would learn to fix the messes they are currently creating, if it meant living with the mess for the rest of their lives.
3. Population would decrease, leaving more for the less.
4. Countries that cannot stand on their own would fail, again decreasing the world population and providing resources for the survivors.

i dont watch cbs much so i cant really say... but i wont condemn a whole station for one bad report... although i have no doubt they biullsh1t all the time...
what i can say with confidence is that fox news is way out there on their own...
the clips of their bullsh1t is inexaustable... so many examples and pretty much everyone on there has dirty hands... that place leaks like a sieve, the morning memos are damaging... its clear they are told how to portray the daily news... hardly fair and balanced... real news relays facts and makes very little or zero conclusions... something we dont see much these days... but with fox its just brutal...
they just arent getting away with it anymore, people are starting to check the facts... some dedicate all their time investigating the reports... thats how we know about the ron paul crap and stuff like that... slanted is an understatement... for msnbc too, but not quite as bad...
