    Blocks v/s Clinch?

Have any of you found clinching(Brazilian Jujitsu style) to be more effective for handling strikes than blocking? I'am referring to one on one fights.

Well a good block should do some damage to your opponent, which could be a good entry to use the clinch.

Well one reason I ask is because I remember reading somewhere that you don't see too many people using too many blocks in the UFC. Instead you see more clinching to reduce striking power
from other fighters. I also think clinching instead of blocking would be more effective against strikes when dealing with a stronger
    fighter.

I think clinching is a more common human response than blocking and that's why it's more commonly used and, therefore, more successful than blocking in those matches. But, if you get someone whose instinct is to block and not clinch, then you'll see someone successfully use blocking.

What works is what you practice.
