okay..please don't laugh, but does anybody know where to buys these? the only retailer i'm aware of is wle.
one would think that, with its extensive selection of foot-wear, martial arts mart would offer such a product (hint, hint, nudge, nudge)

Like these un's? http://www.annihilationgear.com/inde...category/32/:D
yup..those seem to be the exact same as on wle...but a little more in terms of price.
For MA boots in general, the ones that you are talking about do not fit my bill. First, they have too thin sole for comfortable and healthy use. Second, there is not sufficient protection for the ankle and back of the foot.

In fact, it was one of the main products that I pushed for carrying when I first got started here. Unfortunately at that time - as well as now - sales figures for this product combined with the stability of manufacturers made it a poor investment. You've got to keep in perspective that MartialArtsMart.com seeks to service all styles and the bulk of the income, despite Kung Fu Tai Chi magazine, still comes from outside the Chinese styles. Within the Chinese styles, only a small portion comes from traditional items. Frankly, MAM sells a whole heck of a lot of wushu weapons and very few traditional ones. Nevertheless, I continue to push for traditional products in hopes that the TCMA community will support us. That being said, you'll have to find your kung fu boots elsewhere for now, Krist.

I honestly thought that the new generation of practitioners would be interested in those items? I still use them for demonstration, but for everyday training you can’t beat Fei Yue.
agreed - feiyues are great for day-to-day training (and fortunately, MAM carries a very high quality version of this shoe). but sometimes, you just can't beat the campy flavor of a good pair of kung-fu boots!
This is what I'll call Kung-Fu boots.
