I went there once to go see Alcatraz. The first thing I saw was a giant billboard advertising some show with a fat qu**r dressed as Caesar. I couldn't wait to get out of that place.
Of course my wife was with me so we had to stay after touring Alcatraz and go to Pier 39. Since it was full of tourists and not too many San Franciscans, it was tolerable. Honestly, it's a pretty city, it's just full of the sort of people I don't choose to associate with.
