Thread: Basic Forms?

    Basic Forms?

A few years back I had trained for a month at Shaolin EPO Wushu College in Dengfeng, China.

Since the training period was so short, we had learned only a couple of different forms.

One of the forms was the Five Step Boxing form.

Very close (but not exact) to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Me_KqHJQoIw

    And also this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSC0cHpXYYE

I haven't practiced either form in a long time so I need a video to jog my memory.

The other form that I believe I was taught was called something along the lines of Big Fist, or Big Red Fist or Little Red Fist if I'm not mistaken.

However I can't find a video of it as I'm not sure I have the correct name.

I was wondering if someone might know what it could have been and be able to suggest a name, or even share a video of some of the basic Shaolin wushu forms (or stretches or exercises) which we may have been taught so that I might be able to get back into practicing.

However the video is poor. Does anyone know the name of this form or know of a video of higher quality?

These are the coaches who taught us: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDI9nLR4g9s

The one in the video is Datongbiquan.

The other two you're looking for are Xiaohongquan and Dahongquan.

Here are some lyric threads, to get you started.

And here's one on wubuquan, which will also summon up plenty of threads on this forum (I only searched this Shaolin forum):
