    Monkey Staff

    Hello

I write to get information about your opinions about the correct dimensions for a traditional Monkey Cudgel. I know is different with common kung fu staff because the monkey staff got to have the same measure on both ends or heads. Also which type of wood do you think is best ?

    Thank You

In my experience the monkey staff is Metal not wood.

Its often reffered to as 'Bang' not 'Gun' which means a heavier club type weapon, heavier and thicker than a staff. YuanHou Bang, JinGu Bang etc. Often the forms will have moves using the legs to help lift and swing the staff because of its weight.

Your right about the equal ends though.

I don't think there is an exact length but probably between the eyebrow and the top of the head.
