Hi all,
Anyone know if there is a school or teacher that teaches Southern Shaolin White Crane?
Thanks.
Hi all,
Anyone know if there is a school or teacher that teaches Southern Shaolin White Crane?
Thanks.
are you talking about Short Hand or Long Hand?
Long Hand you got the White crane Association on Canal Street from the Chan Hak Fu lineage. Or you can seek out the related style of Lama.
As for Short hand/aka: fujian Crane I don't remember seeing any.
not exactly fukkien white crane but I know theres a ngo cho kun(5 ancestor fist) school in NY..the teacher is Lim Sifu..ngo cho kun has big influences from fukkien white crane..

not closed-moved.
There are a few Fukien White Crane guys who play in Columbus Park on Sunday mornings.
You will have to go there, hang out, get to know folks, and prove you're not an azole, and you might hook up with them. Nice bunch of guys, but wary of outsiders.

agreed. But they were always a closed bunch. Maybe they're rebuilding.
If you look around, there are hardly any Kung-Fu schools open in Chinatown anymore. There used to be one on every block. Rentals are too high to support these little schools.
(sigh..you just can't go home anymore..)

Opps, sorry I forgot to say what style. I was loooking for short hand/
Fujian crane style.
Oh I liked the videos that were linked for ngo cho kun but the teacher on utube was wayout in NJ.
Yeah guys, you all are right about there being so many schools around. When I was more into martial arts years ago, there were so many choices.
Well I wil look into the guys in the park. I will have to drop by.
Well I am probably out of luck but thanks everyone the yep.
The quality of instruction found for FREE in Columbus Park surpasses that of many "established" schools...plus there are no BS "Gate Fees" and other such nonsense.

wow, Columbus park sounds like a cool place to train and talk to people, any other places similar to this in NY? The only other one I can remember is a handball court near Christie street in Chinatown.
Everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die...
it sort of rotates. Several years back it was the handball courts, then it moved to Elanor Roosevelt Park fro a few years, now it's Columbus park-probably because they refurbished the park-fixed up the "temple" (that house thing) put in nice seating, rock gardens, musicians, chinese chess, etc. It's like being in China-but with regular toilets.
