Jerry Cook is a huge forms collector. I have a freind that does his Ma family Long Fist and Tiger crane stuff. He periodically refers to 'Zen' as Japanese Taoism. Now I know where he gets it from.

    wow! that's messed up!

does he not know about Ch'an then?

I think shinto would be the Japanese version of taoism personally. IN practice if not in writings.

Maybe he used the title just for his keywords or was just refering to what he thinks is taught in his school.I have seen some videos with titles like this "Karate, martial arts,Selfdefence China..."

    Kind regards,

I don't know. I was not about to explain it to him. I get tired of trying to educate people. I am kind of at a point where I want to just do my own thing, and follow the current course with the Kuntao Silat.
