Other than that, Dave flamed out in an argument with Ray and banned himself, then Ray flamed out and not to be outdone by Dave, also banned himself.

We can only assume that battle rages elsewhere for now.

I watched the republican presidential candidate debates on google/fox news channel.

I like the part that each proposed a solution to questions asked within a determined/definate time.

The questions were asked from mediators and viewers (via google/youtube).

I did not like personal attacking parts or attacking President Obama--

We all know about the candidates already. Who has the longest or best experience and such. No need to attack at each other.

so much so in this and any forum of any kind, public or private.

As some of you know, I personally disagree with banning ANYONE outside of harrasment and spaming.
If one's beliefs are so weak that they can't be defended openly, what foundation do they have then?
Sorry, I just don't agree with banning people because they disagree with Us or we don't like their debating style.

While I may be uncomfortable with draconian measures, for too long this forum had suffered terribly from under-moderation, and it had become a pretty stale and boring place where a small number of people had circular bickering matches. I think there were people on both sides of the (false) traditional/modern divide who were every bit as guilty of this.
Hopefully now this forum can become a cool place to visit again.

Oh no, don't get me wrong. NO ONE was banned for their views.
They were indeed banned for spamming, harrasment, and continued badgering as well as being A1 grade ass hats of the highest order.

He took the time to dig up fight records of mine from over five years ago and attacked me and my martial background personally. When I said I would be in NY for Thanksgiving and that I wanted to compare with him personally... martial artists to martial artist, he stated he didn't have time for me and asked to be briefly banned.

I was trying to explain to Gene that we're an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week. But all the decision of that officer have to be ratified at a special biweekly meeting. By a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs -- but he kept butting in about how he is the King and telling me to shut up. Typical of the violence inherent in the system.

I mean, if I went around sayin' I was an empereror just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me they'd put me away!
