Does Your Tai Chi Have power?

Older Tai Chi had things like weight Ball, Striking a Tree to generate power in your palm strikes, shoulder stroke and kicks, and splashing hands in water for iron palm fajin.

Does your tai chi do these things today?

Are do you just chi gung, push hands, and forms...

Do you simply do techniques in the air with out hitting something that gives you resistance like people who practice Baguazhang and Baiji today?

The Flow is relentless like a raging ocean with crashing waves devasting anything in its path.

"Kick Like Thunder, Strike Like Lighting, Fist Hard as Stones."

"Wing Chun flows around overwhelming force and finds openings with its constant flow of forward energy."

"Always Attack, Be Aggressive always Attack first, Be Relentless. Continue with out ceasing. Flow Like Water, Move like the wind, Attack Like Fire. Consume and overwhelm your Adversary until he is No More"

Maybe you should ask why would people do training like that.

I would not assume that no answer implies others exclusively practice air training.

Some people do and some people don't, some people do both!

Or mabe some people (perhaps many...) are currently on Holliday and aren't really checking these boards too often right now.

Mabe after New Years, then O. P. might get more looks and responses.

*** As for answering the question of Yoshiyahu,
Does your tai chi do these things today?
The answer is so simple, ie. Mostly the only people who would seriously train power on a consistent basis are the ones who also intend to FIGHT.

So if your expecting older people to be adding Power before health focused Chi Gung, then obviously it's not feasible. That's not thier goals.

So the purpose of Tai Chi is not to fight?
