    Any good vids of breakfalls?

    I'm starting up Shuai Chiao next week and figured I'd get a bit of a jump on things by tacking on some breakfalls to my practice. I'm okay with basic tumbling (shoulder rolls and such), but have limited experience with straight breakfalls. I've looked around on YouTube a bit but haven't found many vids that cover anything but rolling. The only exception is front-flipping and landing your "back"...which I used to do as a kid (as soon as I found out I could do it, I used it to pretend I hit a landmine when playing with friends ).

    Anyone know of any video clips I could take a few pointers from? I'm planning to take it a bit slow, as I'd rather not get a darwin award before my first class, but really any sources of info/videos would be greatly appreciated.

    @Lucas Yeh I had thought of that but used the wrong words to search...using "judo breakfalls" instead of "judo break fall" brought up a lot more results this time around. Thanks!

    @YouKnowWho Thank you!

    That last clip is what I used to do as a kid, minus the movement with the leg. I'm wondering how different it's going to feel nowadays..

    Try looking for Jiujitsu breakfalls. Judo and a few others get all theirs from this. In fact, if you go to a legitimate jiujitsu school you will do breakfalls long before you ever learn to throw someone. Not BJJ, but real Japanese Jiujitsu.
