I made a very in-depth study of the IW before and during my time that I was learning it.
From the western scientific point of view.
It is an excellent isokinetic form and directly applicable to combat in the sense that it trains the attributes needed for combat from a Hung Kuen perspective.
I would argue to what degree the sounds directly effect the organs, but to be honest, that would be splitting hairs.
IMO, the IW form is one of the best "tension" forms I have ever done ( and I have done quite a few).
    Psalms 144:1
Praise be my Lord my Rock,
He trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle !

Did you write a paper on the subject? If so I'd like to read it...

You can have Kung Fu in cooking, it really has nothing to do with fighting!

Actually, I did but I have no idea where it is.
    On my old PC...

It went into great detail about iso-kinetic tension, valsava maneuvers, core structure, vibrational resonance, etc, etc.

I even had readings of EMG and EKG's from when I did my IW.

    Greetings,

    sanjuro ronin,

Is your study substantial enough to publish? I think that people involved in physical performance would find your results interesting.

    Greetings,

Re: Photo of Wong Fei Hung

The latest find has a lot more in common with the painting of Wong Fei Hung, except that there is no mustache nor head of hair. The sad thing is that so much can be done with technology these days when it comes to image creation.
