ryanh, glad you're enjoying the thread!

    Hi, mickey,
It's been a while...hope everything is going good for you. I would actually have to learn how to do that. I'm probably the lowest-tech person I know at the moment. Another issue is, I couldn't legally sell the music, since I don't own any rights to it. Not sure how that would work out.

131 - Uneasy Feeling (by Jack Trombey)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpDfdxrBwxk&sns=em

    Heard in:
Human Lanterns (a.k.a., Human Skin Lanterns)
    Bat Without Wings
    And other Shaw Bros films...

Jack Trombey also has another track that is very similar, with only some slight differences, that I've heard in:
    Two Champions of Shaolin
    Five Element Ninjas (a.k.a., Superninjas)
    The Kid From Kwangtung
    And countless others...

...however, I haven't been able to locate that track on u-tube yet. Those who are very familiar with Shaw Brothers films will probably know which track I'm referencing by hearing the similarities in parts of this one.

    136 - Ninja in the Dragon's Den

    Main Theme

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLmDcZM7L44&sns=em

This is actually the film's original theme. This movie was a Seasonal Films production (which preceded No Retreat No Surrender by 4 years), and was Corey Yuen's directorial debut. It was also the debut of Conan Lee, and Hiroyuka Sanada's first Chinese movie. In fact, Hiroyuki Sanada was a BIG factor in the movie's success; he was a highly popular teen idol at the time, not only in Japan, but in Taiwan and probably HK and other Asian countries as well, especially with the girls. He was also a protege of Sonny Chiba. NIDD was actually a Seasonal/Toei co-production, and filmed in Taiwan.

Sanada has since moved far beyond the teen idol designation and the MA movie genre as an actor. Unfortunately, many Westerners, if they are familiar with him at all, usually only remember him from Ringu, The Last Samurai, and Rush Hour 3, and Lost, far from his best works.

Great thread. I thought a lot of these songs would never be found, yet here we are today. Never say never I guess. Special thanks for Chen Lee and the General, and Return of a Man Called Horse.

Hey, glad you like the thread!

I've always had a great fascination for the former practice of using lifted music in those classic KF films. Not only lifting the tracks, but often using them very well; in a *few* cases, the borrowed soundtracks even fit the KF films as well as or better than the original movies, IMO.

    140 - The Swarm

    Full soundtrack

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyxbAMmGFVA&sns=em

Since this soundtrack vid is long (73 minutes), I'm highlighting certain points or tracks where parts are used, or familiar-sounding in the following movie(s). I skimmed around some, so there are probably more points heard, though I don't want to spend TOO much time on this.

The first 23 seconds or so are heard in:
    The Buddha Assassinator
    Mission:Kiss and Kill

The first several minutes, and parts from 43:58, 100:52, 105:20, and 108:30 are heard in:
    The Buddha Assassinator
