Curious if anyone knows the song played at the opening of the Boxer from Shantung. It sounds almost like it belongs in West Side Story or a Japanese Crime thriller movie of the mid to late 60s---any help would be much appreciated.
Also looking to find what the opening theme of the Savage Five is. Other songs featured in the film are from The Return of Ringo and Death Rides a Horse but that opening track has escaped me for some time.
Great thread by the way---well done and thank you to everyone who has contributed to it over the years.
I just did a quick search of this thread and found this

Opening Theme of "Boxer from Shantung": Chase Theme of the Japanese/Hong Kong movie "Asia-Pol" (Original music by Toshiro Mayutami)
Main Title of "Savage Five": Giacobbe l'Uomo Che Lotto Con Dio (Teo Usuelli) Barbaresca (aka Dark Battalions) (see entry #557)
Here a link to Dark Battalions and other Shaw Brothers tracks:

Here is a deep cut. Trying to find out what the opening theme from Hero of Shanghai is from. Below is a link of the tune I am talking about.

724 (if we're still keeping count)
This film amply samples from Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.
