    Slightly OT...

This isn't quite a Kung Fu film. It's an old HK gangster flick by Wong Kar Wai, his directorial debut, no less. As Tears Go By (1988) features a Cantonese version of Take My Breath Away by Berlin from Top Gun (1986). The chorus is in English but the rest is redone in Cantonese.

Jimbo, my compliments on a very amusing thread you've got going here. It's taken me this long to find something to contribute that you haven't already covered, and even then, it's not quite Kung Fu.

Thanks, Gene. And it doesn't have to be KF. Old-school action, gangster, etc., using other soundtracks or album music also count. I'm counting your entry as number 115.

My bad if this is not worthy for a Kung Fu Movie music list but...

From the movie Shogun Assassin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4s7pNmhnBTw

Did a quick look through and not sure if it was listed...but this is dope and always on my mind:

Mark Lindsay & W. Michael Lewis - Lone Wolf's Theme (Shogun Assassin)

This track is heard in the Mandarin, Korean, possibly Cantonese, etc., versions. The version(s) of TOD/GOD2 heard in the West, or at least in the States, has a different, and probably original, soundtrack.

129 - Way of the Dragon

    Theme by Joseph Koo

Although WOTD does contain lifted tracks, as seen in some earlier entries in this thread, it also features original music by Joseph Koo, including the tracks heard here. When I think of Bruce Lee, this is the music that comes to mind.

    Greetings Jimbo,

I know it has been a while.

I am just stopping by to say that the creation of a couple of MP3 cds or Atrac with an information booklet would find an audience. A CD ROM might even work. You have done all of this work. Why not get paid for it?
