Knife, Tear Gas, Stun Gun, Hand Gun, ...

The freedom fighter Li Ao in Taiwan always carries 3 things with him 24/7:

    - knife,
    - tear gas, and
    - stun gun.

Our combat skill may not be effective in front of him.

A 8 years old boy can use his ".22 Saturday night special (I have one)" to kill the best TCMA master in the world. Under gun, everybody are eqaual. When gun and knife are introduced into any combat discussion, there won't be anything worthwhile to talk about after that.

Do we always have to bring weapon into our combat discussion? What's your thought?

I don't think he is pre-communist. He was the one who pointed out that even the communism founder Karl Marx didn't believed in communism himself. It can be proved by one of the letters that Marx wroted to his friend.

    Indeed.
Firearms are even more deadly in the hands of someone who is trained and versed well in the use of them.
Superior firepower does win the day.

But most of us don't carry guns around and probably wouldn't kill someone with one.
Kung Fu is good for you.

Guns are useful at times, most people use them as excessive force, that and guns aren't always reliable. Your hands are always there.

    li ao

    his weapon is his mouth.

he likes to reason with you with proof.

    based on this and that

    therefore we may conclude.

in order to counter argue or reason with him

you have to research and provide counter proof.

    ---

if you have reason or li, you may walk thruout the world.

if you have no reason, it is difficult to walk even an inch.

you li, zhou pian tian xia.

wu li, chun bu nan xing.

    that is Li Ao weapon

he armed himself with reasoning backed up by proof.

    Sometimes alrite

Most of the time, he just argued for arguement sakes.

Well, not everyone has a gun or a knife on them so it doesn't always have to come up.

I mean, it should be a consideration when talking in terms of self defense. But hand to hand combat is best applied against an unarmed assailant - and perhaps, to a lesser degree, on someone who has a knife.

Guns are always a factor, same for knives and sticks.
My MA training takes into account:
    Edge weapons
    Impact weapons
    Firearms.
I try to make it so that what I do VS an impact weapons like a stick, is the same as vs H2H ( the carryover is there).
Firearms changes a lot for obvious reasons.
I view the potential attack of any opponent as armed and since a blade is more dangerous than a stick and a stick more than a fist, I try to revolve my training around dealing with an edge weapon.
