It's sad for a white hair guy to see a black hair guy go. I still remember that I sparred with him when I visited my senior longfist brother Nelson Tsou's "5 tigers club" in NYC back in 1973.

Sorry to hear about another incredible Shifu leaving this plane of existence.

Prayers have been said to the four directions for him and his entire pai.

I learned long fist from Henry Gong around 1990- I am very surprised by his passing.
I am wondering if he was ill or was it sudden?

I was not very good at long fist,I didn't get it,so i did not train long.
Many times after class Henry and I would get dinner. He showed me all the best spots in Flushing.
Years before his spinal rotation book and video came out,I remember how he would emphasize the role of the spine in generating power and for agility .He was a very generous instructor, and would teach you as much as you could absorb and then some.He did not like the title of shifu so we all just called him Henry.
Though I did not keep in contact with him after all these years, what he taught me stayed with me and greatly benefited me over the years.
I am deeply saddened by his death. 南无阿弥陀佛

    Condolences

We met briefly, but I never really got to know him beyond his reputation.

I met him a few times down in NYC Chinatown a million years ago; super nice guy; one of the few people in the NYC TCMA scene that no one ever had anything bad to say about...
