The Flow is relentless like a raging ocean with crashing waves devasting anything in its path.
"Kick Like Thunder, Strike Like Lighting, Fist Hard as Stones."
"Wing Chun flows around overwhelming force and finds openings with its constant flow of forward energy."
"Always Attack, Be Aggressive always Attack first, Be Relentless. Continue with out ceasing. Flow Like Water, Move like the wind, Attack Like Fire. Consume and overwhelm your Adversary until he is No More"
Power is put out through the heels by the quadriceps muscles and the squeezing of the knees. You connect it to the upper body through the pelvic tilt which is then transferred to the elbow. The center of mass of the body is then translated forward along the horizontal axis.
For strikes the hips are rotated.
That is wing chun Power generation.
It's developed starting in siu lim tao, and in chum kiu, and in biu jee, and in the mook yan jong.
There are also specific isolation drills we do with partner in chum kiu ma where we use this force to practice pushing our partner backward.
It's applied in every strike, push, and deflection. It is the basis of all structure and all power.
Think about plyometrics.
Kung Fu is good for you.
Thanks everyone for your real comments!

like in kung fu, it's always best if put in the work yourself

JP, an interesting partner drill exercise that used to be practiced more in the old days and less now. It involves in one part your training partner palm striking you on your chest while in YJKYM, as hard as you can comfortably handle it. The force is then bounced through the entire body, to the ground then bounce back through the chest and back into the partner. My teacher says this exercise helps in cultivating internal power.
Perhaps it is related to plyometrics.
Yoshi, like everything else in Wing Chun you develop it by doing it over and over again. You should be practising every time you chi sao, anytime you do dan chi sao and for that matter can practice it anytime you drill anything! The trick is not to push but to just maintain position / structure and let the opposing force that is trying to deform your shapes load up your arms and legs
A clever man learns from his mistakes but a truly wise man learns from the mistakes of others.
