Add a safe and fun grappling game into your training

If you come from a striking art and if you want to have a taste of the grappling art, you should try the following game.

    - Both kicking and punching are allowed.
    - Whoever can get a " 環(Huan) – head lock", " 圈(Quan) – under hook", " 抄(Chao) - over hook", he wins that round.

Try this for 15 round daily, in 6 months, you will have a good understanding of grappling. It's fun and safe game which can add something new into your training.

    What's your thought?

You want a good understanding of grappling go train wrestling until your takedowns are good then go train bjj until your transitions and submissions are good. The. Grapple to submission. Then learn to incorporate it into your striking game.

That may be too much to ask from those who is against the concept of "cross training".

For those who came from a grappling background and doesn't want to get hit on the head, a simple "hand grab on the neck" game can be played just as a punch to the head.

As long as we can encourage the concept of cross training and remove the "fear" from people's mind, that will be a nice initial step. After all, a throw to the ground or a punch to the head does hurt.
