    Most Famous Spear Methods

Some time ago I read a bit on Spear Methods. There were three Spear Sets mentioned which were considered the most famous and also the best. I think I remember the first two correctly but the third does not come to my mind and I do not find an correct link to refresh my memory.

The first to are. Yue Jia Qiang and Yang Jia Qiang, but which is the Third ? Are their other sources which point to other spear sets beeing the best. I read for example on Shaolin Meihua Qiang that there is not a Spear Set which surpasses this one except the Taiji 13 Spear.

General Qi Jiguang said that spear comes from the Yang Family.
    Spear
New Book on Effective Training (Ji Shao Xin Shu) states that the method of spear descends from the Yang family, it is known as Pear Blossom 梨花...
Most spear methods are variations of this series of 24 moves.

    The Barbarian Surrendering Maneuver

The prime movement of this style is called The Barbarian Surrendering Maneuver. You can read about this move as it was taught to the military as well as at Shaolin during the end of the Ming Dynasty.

I think you might enjoy this spear article by my Kung fu uncle, Prof. Randy Choy. http://i-chuan.net/pages2/Choy10.html

There are only 3 "basic" spear techniques:

    - clockwise circile,
    - counter-clockwise circle,
    - stab.

If you are good at this, all the others are not important.
