skyfall was definitely a return to form for bond, i enjoyed it immensely. javier bardem steals the show, from his first scene on, he plays the perfect villain for james bond, likable and charismatic. my problem? the script way to many reference to old and new. "this is the old way, this is the new way" is constantly pounded into our heads, which was irritating. because it was also the theme of the movie so it didnt need continual verbal reference when thats what we were seeing on screen. also there was so really poor CGI. but that might have been the imax screen, making it noticeable...when i watch it again on a normal screen ill know, also all the obvious dark knight references kept annoying me, there was even a tiny avengers nod. and lets not forget all the nods to previous bond movies, which actually i loved. the action and acting was top notch all around, judy dench once again shows that she IS "M". it was great, i put it on par with casino royale. except that with this one they brought back the tongue and cheek style dialogue from the old bond movies. daniel craig has solidified himself as one of the great bonds...to me its connery(connery IS bond) pierce brosnon, and craig. its a must see. the scenes of hong kong and macau were beautiful, although i dont know how much was actually shot there beyond the exteriors. DONT SEE THIS IMAX. ill be a little technical here... this movie was shot digitally with the arri alexa, this camera shoots in a 2k resolution(twice the size of standard 1080HD) with a super 35mm sensor. it was meant to be projected in standard 2k which is what you see when you go to a movie theater...so projecting it on a large imax screen makes alot of things noticeable, even down to the lighting scheme if you know what to look for. save the four bucks and see it in a regular theater. but see it none the less.

This is officially my favorite Bond film. IMO, Daniel Craig is the best 007. I used to think nobody could top Sean Connery, but I think Craig has.

Javier Bardem is outstanding as the villain.

Not much more I can add. I believe at least some, if not all, of the Asian scenes were actually shot in Japan.

dont know where you are getting that info from...none of the asian scenes were shot in japan...the interiors were shot on a soundstages back at pinewood. and the exteriors were shanghai and macau. dont know where you are getting japan from.

On some movies like the bond films, I watch the whole end credits. They did shoot in Japan, and in Bosnia, Turkey, and I think in Germany, too. Not everything, but locations in.those countries
were used.

Daniel Craig is so far, the closest to the James Bond of the novels.
Sean Connery will always be Bond,
and Roger Moore will always be the worst Bond ever. Perhaps even worse than Lazenby..
They should do a remake of all his films

Lazenby wasnt the worst bond, not by far.... actually i would put him as the fourth best bond. the worst bond was timothy dolton.

1.connery(connery is just is bond period. he will not be usurped)

2. craig(better bond? maybe)

3. pierce brosnon(goldeneye alone, give him this rank)

4. george lazenby(he was the first bond to do his own stunts, the fight scenes were more authentic, and not just judo chop, and he had that style and swagger)

5. roger moore( i still dont like watching any of the roger moore films)

I'd say Craig is the most American Bond. All of the others have a certain class, depth, and mystery to them. Craig looks more like a thug who'd pick up an AK and gun down a whole room. He's got no class, no mystery, no dark mystique.

I was in Istanbul quite a few times in 2010 and 2011 and they were quite a few film crews near the Grand Mosque. Takesn 2 was shot on the same grounds in Istanbul.

No other actor has sold that quality of Bond.
