Glad to see you’re getting in there with the blood and snot, because that’s the only way to help them bring those concepts to life, by giving them a good supernatural a$$ whooping, because other than that it’s just a bunch of drills, when dealing with sparring and fighting.

Unless that’s what you’re teaching anyway (drills), it still would be good for them to know that stuff in whatever format (new guys). Me, I like to do the nasty, blood, snot and maybe a little vomit when dealing with those concepts (with long time students), which are made for intermediate and advanced students anyway; and that's from the way I was taught.
