Choi Lee Fut Sup Gee; Sifu Leo Au Yeung

Hi folks, here's a new video from Sifu Leo, performing some sections from choi lee fut sup gee kuen form as passed down from Lau Kar Leung... LKL's hung gar kung curriculum starts as hung & moves to CLF...

    Cheers.

    Nice, thanks.

I've never heard a definite answer on this, but is the CLF influence from Lau Jaam having had training in CLF prior to starting Hung Kuen?

    Sure I've heard that somewhere.

Not too sure where LKL got this form from, whether from Lau Jaam or otherwise... Lau Jaam as far as I'm aware learnt CLF in his teens before studying with Lam Sai Wing, not sure if this is a remnant of that...
This CLF form is kind of treated as a pillar of LKL's; you can also see bits of the form in a few of his movies, Fu Sheng at start of Men From The Monastery, Cecilia Wong Hsing Hsau does a little as choreo'd by LKL in Shaolin Mantis; & LKL himself does a bit at start of My Young Auntie as well as bit on a TVB telly demo... Not found any other CLF lineages doing exact same CLF sup gee form variant, always keeping an eye out...

I think its something unique to their family as it seems to have bits and pieces from a number of different CLF forms plus some things that likely their own.

As far as the performer in the clip...is he is a wing chun sifu that also studied with LKL?

I believe both his Wing Chun and Hung Gar come from Sin Kwok Lam, a student of Ip Chun and Lau Kar Leung respectively.
