    New Vids

Here is some very recently updated links to some footage that I'd really appreciate you comments on both negative and positive:

    SanZhan Instructional:

The demonstration shown here is from a Martial not "technical" perspective. In our school of White Crane Gongfu, it is felt that Yi or "Intention" and Shen fa or "Body-Feel" are far more important and or greater value than if your elbow is in or out slightly, whether you foot faces too much this way or that. We believe that in the heat of combative or life-protection situations these things matter the least. Body-Feel is to our way, the most important aspect one can develop!

the weapons should reflect the style's structure and fighting concepts.
For example, SPM's poison snake staff looks like you are playing the hands, with a staff. The Butterfly knives show the intricacies of the hand articulations.
Another thing, I ususally look at the gim as a sugical instrument, utilizing finesse, and the dao more of a hacking, slicing, weapon. The gim should show evasive body movements while sugically striking blood vessels, tendons, organs. The dao should incorperate momentum, opening and closing of the structure to power the weapon.
The staff set should show the white crane elements as well. The basic twirling and striking don't seem to match up to the style's kuen faht.
Since Fukien Bak Hok P'ai holds many similarities to styles such as Wing Chun as well as the Hakka Kuen systems, perhaps you can look to those for additional information.

From my limited understanding, It seems that when your arms raise, you should still sink and swallow.Foa chum tun toe.

Thanks Ten Tigers. Some good points!

    As for the:

From my limited understanding, It seems that when your arms raise, you should still sink and swallow.
It is my understanding that this relates more to the internal Expression / Intention than the outward physical appearance.

It is both, but not so much the appearance, that would be simply skin and hair. To execute power of this type, there must be internal mechanisms working along with intention. The body sinks, the sacrum tucks, the stance is rooted, the dan tien draws in, while the body both expands outward, AND contracts inward. Rise fall swallow spit, all at the same time.
From looking at your execution, your rooot was compromised and your breath was not sunk to the dan tien. (Hei chum dan tien, yeu mah hop yat.) When you can integrate these, then you will have good structure.
