Another poor example of gun defense not the technique but why would a pistol wield er approach this closely? A pistol is as effective at 3 inches as it is from 30 yards. If you are to cuff approach from the rear

How does he keep it from going off as he pulls it to his chest is what I was wondering....

The gunman in that case is dedicated to trigger discipline. Clearly.
Kung Fu is good for you.

Maybe some "no touch" is called for.

I have seen many gun defenses. Of the many I have seen, maybe two or three look like they could work, maybe, if you were up against a goon or something. Try that with a soldier and you will die.

That being said, there are a ton of knuckleheads out there who couldn't shoot under pressure if their life depended on it, and it usually does. If somebody is going to kill you and they are willing to come into range, I guess you may as well give it a try. I just don't see it going well for you most of the time. But hey, if you're gonna die anyways, may as well go out like a champ, right!

No it isn't. The accuracy of a pistol increases as the distance decreases.

He manipulates the gun so the barrel points upwards.

    Ask yourself this simple question:
If YOU had the gun, what would you do?
    Exactly.

He trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle !

I'd walk up, real close and tap the barrel on his head and ask him if he feels lucky.

Then I'd say "well, do ya? Punk?"

Then he'd grab the gun, kick my knees and I'd eat some pavement.

No wait... I wouldn't do that at all!

Indeed and that is how most clips of "self defense" are supposed to be viewed, not from the part of the defender BUT from the part of the attacker.
    Would this work on you?

If you were that close it would.
