run and cower, try to invoke the gods if you can. Maybe they'll smile upon you or something.

Barring that, you could take some lessons, learn their guns and how to fire them and then take it from there.
Kung Fu is good for you.

That pushing the issue doc was really cool. My sifu teaches our Tai Chi like that and we get DQed for it all the time...hahahaha but its cool. When we use the Hop Gar hands we get told we are out of control...

Apparently David Chin's students have bad reps at tourneys now hahahaha

Too many people actually think there is no grappling in Kung Fu, the wrestling has been abandoned by many because they can't really practice it in forms. Then a quarter of your art is gone, a range is gone.

You can have Kung Fu in cooking, it really has nothing to do with fighting!

Tai Ji is a balance act.

    or centering act.

We have to consider dissolution or neutralization of the opponent's jin first.

    Thus

We have hua da, hua na and hua shuai.

    Hua Jin first that is.

In Chen village they say the one who strikes first is the elder brother and the one who strikes later is the little brother (or something like that if I remember correctly). Anyway at least the Chen teachers I have met recommend striking first.

    Greetings,

I had the blessing to see Chen Taiji push hands in NYC. It did not look like the bull rush shown in the video posted earlier in this thread. Yet I could not call it the same as Yang style. It trained sensitivity AND structure. I also have that same push hand competition and it had me scratching my head.

It's very hard (if not impossible) to neutralize when your opponent

    - punches at your face, or
    - grabs you with both hands.

So when should neutralization be applied?

Taiji system depends on neutralization is just like the SC system depends on sleeve hold. Both dependency may work in sport but won't work in combat.

    Your opponents have 3 hands?
