Wing Chun - Poetry In Motion

I have noticed the discussion on the 'seeking bridge' thread divert as always and now come back to finally talking about the language of Wing Chun and the many diverse interpretations of commonly seen 'Kuen Kuit' that seems to have become more available online these days...

Below is an example that I posted in my Lee Shing Tong Group in Facebook and shared publically by my kung fu uncle Sifu Sam Kwok. Although he doesn't claim this as his and doesn't seem to teach his students in this way I think he understands the cultural importance of the more classical literature that is more rhythmic and poetic in nature. It has obvious connections to the more traditional of the southern systems and would definitely need direct transmission... enjoy, translate and discuss as you see fit

seems to be a modern hong kong era creation of some ones own idea. In fact some ideas are misleading. Thus, read with care.

Care to share why you think that Hendrik? I mean I don't know for sure where this piece originatres but have only really seen the 4:4 couplets in old Hung Gar and the Opera lineages of Wing Chun.

Really? They are lines telling stories? Give an example Kev... Like I said that wouldn't surprise me especially if its from the Operatic families but fme Kuit like this contains basic exercises that express the essence of the the system.

I suspect because it contains some ideas that contradict his understanding of the system, so he chalks it up to someone else's misleading opinion.

That's cool. We all have our opinions.

I try not to make judgments but for me the proof is in the pudding! I'm also someone who can talk endlessly about what I do but I also like to think that the many ppl I have met and exchanged with have also seen and felt something directly that they understand to be good Wing Chun. If not I would be all talk.

Hendrik is no different in that sense and I like to give credit where its due and he has found his voice through his clips too so good luck to him.

The following 2 statements contradict to each other.

Power generation need to consider 6 harmonies (coordinate hand with foot, elbow with knee, shoulder with hip). Power is always generated from the ground.

Power is generated from arms and legs. It has nothing to do with body.

    1. If he is a Classical Chinese writer , he will not right things as

    2. As John point out the following doesn't make sense in real life martial art .

    3. The following doesn't make sense for real life human being to function.

4。the following is contradict to the above claim in#3 he made

I'm quite surprise to read this as well. When you use fake punch to set up a real punch, you may isolate your arm from your body in your fake punch. If that's the case, it should not be called 发力(power generation).

This is the issue of people who is not experience making up teaching.
    I agree with you.

Similarly, this one is totally crazy. Can one punch without intention ?

Not using mind and intention, using only essence and spirit .

Sorry there is no such type of human in this world, even the Buddha has to use intention if he is going to press a door bell to visit me.

Indeed, it seems nothing is true Ving Tsun unless you can talk about it on youtube for hours
