    Is that you?

I have noticed that the coach may have turned you into a "left hand" person. If he always attack from his right, he would only give you a chance to counter from your left. Soon, your left side will develop better skill than your right side.

that's beijing style shuai jiao, they all start from the right foot forward and stay that way. it's me. i have sparred only a hand full of times since i had knee surgery,i'm still getting back into it slowly. so i am being careful, not to try to hard. and yao is a pro fighter with freekish strength

I dont know the rules for Shuai jiao, but why are you not changing levels on your double leg attempts, and dropping a knee. And your shooting from to far out.....if those where double leg attempts.

no dropping to one knee in beijing style shuai jiao. and on that single leg the idea is to grab the leg and it then pull it into your chest, then you would twist and throw him to the right side, but yao is freekishly strong,so i can't pull it in.

for example, see the last throw yao used to throw me, he grab my ankle,he is far from me,he gets the throw by the pulling action, similar to the single leg ,you grab and pull it into you. similar to this sambo single leg

In SC rules, any 2 points besides your feet touch the ground, you lose that round. If you drop your knee (which is OK), and if your opponent can also drag one of your elbows to touch the ground (this usually happen quite often), you will lose that round. The wrestling single leg and double legs are not suitable to be used in SC tournament for the reason as described.

Yes! One point down is OK.

It's called "跪腿得合(Gui Tui De He) - knee down inner hook" in Chinese. My teacher didn't teach this move. Most of his students learned this move from his young brother back in China. One day I asked him why and he said, "What kind of hero will you call yourself if you knee down in front of your opponent in a fight?" His reason was beyond "combat". If you teach this move to your students, you have to drop your knee right in front of them. Person likes my teacher, he would never do that in his life time.

Another 2 moves that my teacher didn't teach was the

    - "穿裆(Chuan Dang) - firemen's carry". He had broken someone's elbow once by twisting his legs when his opponent's arm tried to extend between his legs (it got into a serious fist fight after that). It was considered as high risky move to him.

    - "仰蹬(Yang Den) - back falling lift". Since you have to fall backward before you can use your leg to lift your opponent over your body. In SC rule, since your body touch the ground 1st, you already lose that round before you even throwing your opponent. Worse than that, when you use your foot to lift your opponent when you are on the ground, at the same time, if your opponent uses exactly the same move on you by putting his foot into your groin, you will be in trouble.

This move is higher illegal to be used in any SC tournament. It was even removed from all the SC books that I can find. It's called "外麻花(Wai Ma Hua) - outer leg twist".

Have you (or your teacher) ever seen anybody use it?

yeah i learned it,if it is the one i'm thinking of.after that postion ,you step through, and do a kind of clothesline on the neck? if so that throw is very standard in the beijing style i learn.but i'm not sure if it is the same throw, the one im thinking of you step behind him, seems in that photo,he is stepping to the side?

It's not stepping behind him but twisting his leg to force his knee to bend to his left.
