    Training Log

I have seen many training log in different forums. Some may look like:

    Hook punches x 60
    Straight punches x 60
    Front Kick x 20
    Round House Kick x 20
    ...

    others may look like:

    pushups x 30 sec
    hindu squats x 30"
    high knees x 30"
    pike press x 30"
    ...

I was told never to expose personal training program to others. Why do you want others to know your personal training program? There is no advantage to it. Of course you can fake your personal training program online by releasing wrong information. But why do you bother to do that for?

Am I the only person who care about to "keep personal training program personal"?

    Your thought?

If you care about that stuff, then why do you share other information about your training and understanding?

Are you trying to keep others from gaining an advantage by not showing specifics of your training?

Could they even gain an advantage just from knowing those details?

Most people I've seen can't even do stuff right when the teacher is trying to force feed them their training.

I don't worry about people "stealing" knowledge. Not that training log information is any great knowledge either.

Some people might post that information as personal motivation to improve.

So it can benefit them that way.

It's like if someone makes a public committment to quit smoking or whatever.

I like to see what other people with similar goals are doing, how their workouts compare with mine, maybe get an idea to change things up...

May be try to fool others that you are just a grappler why you are also a decent striker.

    Haha, ok.

But if we are really concerned about that, then we would walk around saying we don't know anything, instead of posting online

If I thought I would have to fight people here or was intimidated in some way, I would not share anything about my routine. Not because I have huge secrets, but simply because I wouldn't want to advertize my weaknesses to opponents.
But that is not the case and it will not be the case. A lot of people are here just for the love of MA's and want to share their story. How you train is just another part of that story. Many people feel proud of what they have done and either want to show off a lil or help others do the same. Personally, I think a lot of that closed door stuff is to hide inadequacies, not protect some amazing ability. Also, people want to be special. Having secrets is one way to fool yourself that you are special.

There is nothing more ordinary than man's desire to be extraordinary. People deal with that in odd ways sometimes.

    Yeah, and that. lol

If you truly want to keep it under wraps, why bring it up at all? Just front like you have no skill at all.

    Best quote ever.

Reminds me about my "terminally unique" coworkers.

lol, I didn't make it up. I was paraphrasing and didn't source it because I can't remember who said it. I wanna say Shakespeare, but I'm not sure.

It reminds me of another great quote though....

    Marquis de Sade wrote:

“Beauty belongs to the sphere of the simple, the ordinary, whilst ugliness is something extraordinary, and there is no question but that every ardent imagination prefers in lubricity, the extraordinary to the commonplace”

you never expose your training program if you are competing athlete. if you are hobby nobody it doesn't matter.

athletes don't expose their training log, they also don't expose their drug log. at elite level drugs is just as important as training.

I hope that's just an example, because that is a ****ty training routine.
