I find your statement humorous. You say you're a coach and yet somehow you have racked up 190 posts in the last 4 days since you joined this forum so how is it possible you can't answer this question for yourself? I get it. You don't take this seriously so you're probably making up the whole coach thing.
I really should have learned from the last few days so I'm posting this as a reminder to myself and others.

Man... Now I have coffee in my nose!!! That one caught me off guard. Thanx for that Wenshu.
He is going to scan pictures and say they are in the forms. Once he scanned a pic of Lana's overhand downward strike and said that could be a hip throw. Lol lol
He has no video of himself and the people he trained with back then doing any grappling.
Dave, show is the Dancing Around the Question form.

Look at many old okinawan katas and you can see the grappling applications. For example, look at Wansu kata and it teaches you a throw that we call now the fireman's carry. If you look at Isshin-Ryu's Seisan kata, the last move near the end is catching a kick and twisting the foot to break the ankle.
If you look at Goju-Ryu's Kururunfa kata, the whole kata is designed against grappling attacks. Including how to throw and break holds.
Not sure why you would think that if the okinawans had so many grappling aspects in their katas, that the chinese wouldn't have those same applications that they taught to the okinawans.
"God gave you a brain, and it annoys Him greatly when you choose not to use it."
Every Karate system teaches throws/trips and some grappling/grappling counters and they all can be found in even the basic katas.
If people are not taught them they should blame their former/current senseis.

Praise be my Lord my Rock,
He trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle !
May be it's fun to examine the TCMA forms and see if anybody can identify any takedown or throw. Can you see any takedown or throw in these 3 WC forms?
