    Total geek traditional question

In your opinion, in tma, should gates open and close, or should some gates always be closed/always be open?

Should never close 100 percent. Always leave a way to go from inner to outer, outer to inner. I often use the same check/deflect from outer to inner…inner to outer…etc. Basically, opponent throws a right, I check with left hand, deflect with right hand so I'm outer, then they follow up with left hand, so I check with left hand, deflect with right hand so I'm now inner gate with same check/deflect and so on. Back and forth, never complicated.

I do like to at least start from outer. It's just safer in my opinion.

It really depends on who the Gate Keeper and the Key Master are.

There's not much difference in the two so to understand this is in your favor. You shall now pass my chamber. That is if you were in my chamber in the first place. Maybe your deception was my perception...
